The stories are endless. Employees' loyalty to the Club and its' members is a way of life at the Club. In fact, it is not uncommon to hear of an employee beginning his or her time in an entry level position and rising to mid-management; for instance, from a dishwasher to a sous chef, from a bus boy to our Food and Beverage Manager, and beyond, the Club continues its legacy of creating opportunities for those looking for them. An air of excellence marks the Club and remains a primary reason for employee retention and promotion.

Adapting to Changing Times

"Honor the Past, Respect the Present, Plan for the Future"

In October 2022, The Fort Worth Club will introduce a ratification to its' member structure, which has been in place since 1976. The new structure will set a new standard which will allow prospective members acess to an all-inclusive membership, including both the Athletic Center as well as member dining and social events. The reason for this change is to provide a more well rounded experience to the members to continue to separate the Club from its competition. As time has evolved, Club membership is a joint decision more than ever before and the evolution into ONE CLUB meets the business, social, and wellness needs of our members going forward.

The strategic plan addressed increasing our members' health span to meet their lifespan. In order to achieve this, wellness services were greatly enhanced.

In 2005, the Club began developing a strategic plan to guide the Board, committees, and management for the future. Currently, the Club is in the third of this series of strategic plans. These plans have guided committee and board decisions, eliminated agendas, and given management the tools to keep the Club moving forward.

The current strategic plan was adopted in the June of 2021 and was an innovative approach to the strategic planning process. Unlike the past two plans, this strategic plan has no set end date and is to be reviewed by the Board on an annual basis. This approach was utilized to adapt to the changing landscape of today's ever-changing environment. The basis of this strategic plan includes 13 mission statements created for each department and area of operation. Areas of operation identified within the Strategic Plan include Club governance and Board Finance, along with the 11 club departments. In 2022, a priority within the Strategic Plan was focused on membership. After careful deliberation by management, committees, and the Board, the Club elected to change the membership structure and adopt a ONE CLUB membership.

A unique and vital piece of history is found within the 11th floor in the Davey O'Brien Hall of Fame. The Fort Worth Club and the historic Davey O'Brien foundation share a heritage as the organization was founded by a group of Fort Worth Club members and the foundation, to this day, is housed within The Fort Worth Club building.

The Davey O'Brien Hall of Fame is located on the 11th floor next to the Davey O'Brien Sports Lounge. Davey O’Brien’s longtime friend and business partner, Charles Ringler, believed that accomplishments and commitment of one of Fort Worth’s finest sports heroes deserved to be honored and remembered. In November 1977, just before O’Brien passed away from cancer, Ringler and other members of The Fort Worth Club established the Davey O’Brien Foundation and Davey O’Brien Memorial Trophy. To this day, the Davey O’Brien Award honors candidates who exemplify Davey O’Brien’s enduring character while exhibiting teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership in both academics and athletics.
